Ladies

Ladies Running

There are many lady members at Trentham, and the numbers just keep growing!

Many of our ladies run for the sheer enjoyment of the sport, whilst others compete regularly in road races, or in cross country during the winter months.

Trentham Ladies have had a number of successes over the past year, with individual wins at a number of local road races, as well as further afield. Some members have also won county medals at a variety of distances on the roads, ranging from 10K up to the marathon. We also have a number of veteran ladies who have won a variety of awards for their age group, and have broken club records in the process.

But running at Trentham isn`t just about the individual achievements - it`s also about sharing in the team`s success. In 2005, Trentham ladies have fielded teams at a number of events, including the Clayton 10K and Uttoxeter Half Marathon, where they have come away with the team prize. In 2006, we hope to build on this by encouraging more ladies to take part in competitions, including cross country, so that we can enjoy our sport to the maximum.

We are currently looking for a new ladies team captain/manager who will help us to build on our recent achievements, and to take forward the ladies team. If anybody is interested in the position, or you have any queries whatsoever about ladies running at Trentham, please contact a member of the committee.
